How to Group Your Orders

What is a group order?

A group order is multiple purchases from different retailers (wineries or shops) in France that will be combined to be invoices and grouped to be shipped together for delivery to a single address. This process will allow you to benefit from our volume-based pricing

The process to group your orders are as follows:

1.   Communication is key!

2.   Get familiar with our documentation including “How to Ship Your Wines” and our current price lists. Confirm to our team which shipping option you choose between our ocean-freight or express-freight shipping options.

3.  Inform Cote d’Or Imports of the orders that you have placed. This can be done via e-mail to orderinfo@cotedorimports.com. Copies of your order forms are best, so we have all the necessary information. You can also ask the retailer to forward a copy of the order forms or invoices to us.

  • You have 20 days to finalize your orders in order to ship them as a group order.

  • You can send your orders individually when you make your purchases, but it is important that you inform Cote d’Or Imports when you have finished your purchases so that we can finalize the group order.

4.   Have a great time !

Other important pieces of information to keep in mind during your trip and purchases to group your orders:

· A minimum order is 6 bottles or 3 magnums per retailer.

· Retailers where you purchase should charge you without value added tax (VAT) (in French hors taxes or HT) but not charge you for shipping + insurance & processing fees + additional fees (if applicable). We will charge your credit card for all shipping fees once you have finished all your purchases.

o If the retailer that you visit has not already worked with us and has questions, you can ask them to call our French office number below (weekdays during business hours). The objective is to be sure that you can purchase your wines without VAT.

· We can pick up your orders from the certain areas in France - contact us for more details (included in our “How to Group your Orders”). If your order(s) originates in a region in which we do not handle pickup, the retailer will arrange for French national transport of your wines to our Burgundy warehouse. Additional fees for French transport may be invoiced directly to you by the retailer.

· Departures and timing - If we receive some orders and not others at that departure time, your orders might be exported on separate shipments. If that is the case, we will store the first orders stateside until the later orders arrive, delivering everything at the same time. If you prefer to receive the first orders before the others, it is possible, but the group order will then be considered two separate orders and additional fees will be due.

o Estimated lead times start when we have received all your orders in our French warehouse and final invoice for Cote d’Or Import fees has been settled. You can find additional details in our “How to Ship Your Wines” document.
